I am an Intellectual Historian working on the history of early modern ideas, medicine, and botany. In particular, I deal with the French philosopher René Descartes and his contemporaries, followers and opponents; but, I also focus on the early modern studies of plants and medicine in a broad way, from the Renaissance to the early eighteenth century.
I currently am PI of a project on the study of plants in early modern philosophy and medicine, and postdoc fellow at ICUB-University of Bucharest, through a Romanian National Grant.
